Liabilities in Uber/Lyft Accidents
Driver Liability: In many cases, the rideshare driver may be held liable for accidents caused by their negligence or misconduct while driving for Uber or Lyft. This includes instances of speeding, reckless driving, distracted driving, or driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Company Liability: Uber and Lyft may also be held accountable for accidents involving their drivers under certain circumstances. These companies have a duty to ensure the safety of their passengers by properly vetting drivers, enforcing safety protocols, and maintaining adequate insurance coverage.
Third-Party Liability: In some cases, third parties, such as other drivers, pedestrians, or road maintenance entities, may also share liability for rideshare accidents if their actions or negligence contributed to the collision.
